Have you heard about the Wendigo? This creepy spirit from Algonquian folklore is said to embody insatiable greed and hunger, often depicted as a gaunt, skeletal figure that haunts the cold, northern woods. It’s a perfect ghost story to chill your bones as the nights grow longer! 🌙

Oh, yes. My first exposure to the legend was in The Scary Stories to tell in the Dark treasury (an omnibus of the three books) by Alvin Schwartz. I love that book. There's even a mental illness attached to the legend where someone might crave human flesh. It's called Wendigo psychosis.
