Though not a common title on most Halloween lists the Hammer Horror film called The Devil Rides out (Sometimes retitled "The Devil's Bride or The Devil Takes a Bride here in the US) has become a Halloween tradition for my friend Lorie and I.

Whether they mean to or not, for over nineteen years now, TCM shows The Devil Rides out on Halloween day. and it's become a tradition that my friend Lorie and I watch it.

Christopher Lee plays a wealthy adventurer who wants to save his young friend from a demon worshipping cult and uses white magick to counter their evil.

"What sleeps beneath the soil" sounds like a great title for a horror novel.

The notion of what sleeps beneath the soil brings to mind the ancient, forgotten burial grounds, where the earth truly does hold its most solemn secrets.
