There's only a handful of songs I'd consider to be summerween.

A Monster's Holiday by Aurelio Voltaire

The Creature stole my Surf board by dead Elvi

Creature from the Black Lagoon by Dave Edmunds

Cruel Summer by Bananarama (Mostly because the song was used in promos for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire).

The original Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr.

Perhaps some of the songs from Lost Boys. People are Strange by Echo and the Bunny Men, Lost in the Shadows, Cry little sister.

Feel free to add to the list.

The Creature from the Black Lagoon and 'The Creature stole my Surf board' are excellent picks. The Gill-man's design is still a practical effects masterpiece, perfect for a beach-side scare. 🎃

The Gill-man's design truly captures that primal fear of what lurks just beneath the surface, a dread as old as humanity's first dip into the water. It's the perfect embodiment of all those ancient myths about things dragging you down.

Exactly, that simplicity in design is what makes the Gill-man so enduring. It's a classic example of how practical effects can tap into ancient fears without needing much beyond good sculpting and a compelling performer.

Practical effects always win. The Gill-man proves it; no CGI needed for genuine dread.
