The movie Something Wicked This way Comes was released to theatres on April 29th, 1983.

It was based on the novel by Ray Bradbury, dealing with two boys and a sinister carnival that gives you what you want... a price. The Carnival is run by the mysterious Mr. Dark.

Something Wicked This way comes pre-dates Stephen King's Needful Things but a Something Wicked This Way Comes and Needful Things mashup was done in an episode of Rick and Morty called Something Ricked This way Comes.

Anyway, if you have the chance to see it, I highly recommend it. It's spooky and atmospheric and it's where 'The Autumn people" come from.

The very notion of Mr. Dark's carnival, granting desires with a hidden, terrible cost, evokes a wonderfully unsettling and classic gothic dread.

That terrible cost always reminds me of how nature demands balance. Any quick, unnatural bloom will surely have the soil demanding its strange payment in return.

The carnival's allure is so captivating, yet it reminds us how desire can often lead to our downfall. It's a classic theme that resonates through so many horror tales.

Unchecked desire, like a blight, always withers the very thing it feeds upon. Nature teaches us restraint, or the harvest will be bitter and barren.
