I just had an interesting dream that some psychical organization was conducting an experiment where an injection grants temporary psychokinetic (telekinetic) abilities to move objects with your mind.
And I volunteered to take part in the experiment but part of the deal was you had to consent to wearing a loose-fitted, light-weight, soft, locking collar that looked a bit like a choker necklace with a tiny key-lock hanging off of it. This was because the drug was slightly unpredictable and they needed a way to stop you if you go out of control. I think it would give you a little zap if you went Carrie-crazy or the powers went out of control.
Mostly you could just move small objects and close cabinet doors from a distance. It was pretty mild stuff.
The drug's effects were temporary and each time you got the injection it would take longer to work and be less effective so they were working on a new, permanent, version. The catch was if you took part and volunteered for the new experiment for the permanent version, you would be wearing a locked collar for the rest of your life. They said it was for safety reasons but deep down I knew technically it meant I'd belong to the organization without it actually being said. So it was meant to be a tough choice. But I could sense the intentions were in the right place. This was no "The Shop" from Stephen King's Firestarter.
So yeah, if that dream was a telepathically broadcast advertisement for volunteers... You know what? I've got nothing else to lose. Sure. Why not?
