The season hasn't even aired yet and it's already giving me a headache...
In regard to AMC changing Gabrielle's name to Gabriella "Because she's Italian" let me explain a little basic history for the show crew....
With European nobility... If you marry into a certain culture's nobility, you usually took a variation of your birthname matching that country. For example Marie Antoinette's birth name was actually Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna. Maria became Marie. Gabriella becomes Gabrielle. And based on her age and Lestat's, it's easy to assume she was Gabrielle a lot longer than she was Gabriella.
You didn't go for accuracy "Because she's Italian." You proved you don't understand how European nobility and naming worked. You REMOVED the accuracy!
