Hi. I'm not sure how many people still listen to traditional mainstream radio stations, but for those of you who do, have you ever had any trouble requesting spooky songs during Halloween season?
I'm from Los Angeles, and years ago (before I discovered HRN) I used to try and call in to request any Halloween song as soon as Oct. 1st hit. But whenever I did get through the call lines it was always the same reply: we don't play those songs until Halloween 31st.
Meanwhile, Nov 1st hits and nearly every station starts blasting Xmas music nonstop for 2 months.
It just always felt very discriminatory to me. I stopped listening to radio a long time ago, but did anyone ever encounter similar situations? Or just think the whole radio industry is unfair when it comes to the celebration of Halloween music?
