This coming morning at four forty-five AM (Eastern US time) we will have a micro Blue Moon. It's the second full moon within the month of May, making it a blue Moon. and it is a micro moon because this is the furthest the moon will be from Earth all year. This is the direct opposite of a super Moon, which is when the moon is very close to Earth and thus seems fifteen percent brighter and bigger than usual.
So not only is this a blue Moon but it's the smallest, dimmest moon of the entire year, adding to its rarity.
You know what this means? Micro-werewolves. :-P
